Cookies are small text files stored by the web browser on the hard disk of a visitor's computer when they visit a website and which are used (amongst other things) to record information about the visitor. Cookies enable the storage of the number of items selected by the customer or to retain the connection identifiers : when the visitor returns to the site, they are not required to enter their name and password to log on because they are sent automatically by the cookie.

Internet Explorer (7.0)
  1. click on the Tools menu in Internet Explorer
  2. select Internet options
  3. select the Privacy tab
  4. click on Advanced...
  5. tick Override automatic cookie handling
  6. tick Accept under the headings First-party cookie and Third-party cookies
  7. then finally tick Always allow session cookies
Internet Explorer (6.0)
  1. drop down Tools in Internet Explorer
  2. select Internet options
  3. select the Privacy tab
  4. click Advanced...
  5. tick Override automatic cookie handling
  6. tick Accept under the headings First party cookie and Third party cookie
  7. then finally tick Always allow session cookies
Netscape Navigator (4.8)
  1. under the Edit menu in your browser
  2. select Preferences in the drop down menu
  3. click on Privacy and Security then on Cookies
  4. tick Accept all cookies and/or Alert me before saving a cookie
  5. click Ok
Mozilla Firefox (1.0) Windows/Mac
  1. in the Tools > Firefox options (Windows) or Firefox > Preferences (Mac)
  2. select Privacy
  3. click on the + in front of Cookies
  4. click Accept cookies from sites
  5. click Ok
Mozilla Firefox (2.0) Windows/Mac
  1. in Tools > Firefox options (Windows) or Firefox > Preferences (Mac)
  2. select Privacy
  3. tick Accept cookies
Apple Safari (1.0)
  1. under Safari > Safari Preferences
  2. click on the Security tab
  3. click on Only from viewed sites
