He then opened his first boutique, which was short-lived, but then launched the Tommy Hilfiger Corporation in 1984 which allowed him to develop his own collection of men's clothing. Classic, cool and a little dandy all at once, his models were a quick success and made Tommy Hilfiger one of the world's most famous brands, even today among young urban trendsetters.
