The story of Timberland begins in 1952 with Nathan Swartz and the Abington shoe factory, located in the industrial region of New England in the United States. In 1973, the Swartz family revolutionized the footwear industry with a decidedly new idea: injecting the insoles instead of sewing them, in order to make them waterproof.
