Which handbag to choose for travelling?

Guidelines for a good handbag for travelling :

    • Lightweight: think about the hours of walking you will spend visiting, a bag that is too heavy will mean fatigue and pain
    • Secure: choose zips rather than snaps, choose a cut-resistant material, an RFID lock can be useful to avoid having your credit card details stolen electronically
    • Functional: choose a handbag with an adjustable shoulder strap for easy hands-free access and with both exterior and interior pockets for easy access to your items
    • Water resistant: Let it withstand a little rain without getting the items in your bag wet.

How to maintain your leather handbag?

    • Taking care of it on a daily basis
    • Taking care of your handbag start by storing it in an airy room, away from the sun.

      1. Do not keep it in a plastic bag, prefer a cloth bag.
      2. You can also fill it with newspaper to keep its shape.
      3. Finally, avoid overloading it, as this could cause it to wear out more quickly.
    • Moisturise it regularly
    • Leather bags are initially treated. However, treating it 3 to 4 times a year, with products specially designed for leather is a good thing to ensure that it ages well and looks better over time. Here are Spartoo's tips:

      1. Run a damp sponge over your outer leather to remove dust.
      2. Apply a dab of moisturising milk to a cloth and massage gently. Don't forget the nooks and crannies, and let the milk absorb.
      3. Wipe with a cotton cloth to remove any excess grease.

This cleaning helps to keep the leather soft and prevents it from cracking or stiffening. Avoid shoe polish or grease, which are difficult to spread and may block the pores and suffocate your leather.

how to clean your leather handbag?

    Our advice beforehand

    • There are several things to know when it comes to cleaning a stain.
      • Do not use cleaners that contain detergents, as this could attack your leather.
      • Work as quickly as possible to prevent the stain from penetrating your leather.
      • Apply the following treatments with care, as leather is a very sensitive surface
      • Do not dry the leather with a heat source (such as a hair dryer)
    • How to intervene according to the nature of the stain?
      • Light/water-based paint: a cloth with soap will suffice. Apply with circular movements, then moisturise with milk.
      • Dampness/moisture: apply Vaseline locally, then talcum powder. Let dry and remove with a cotton cloth.
      • Weed/wine/soda/coffee: apply rubbing alcohol locally, leave to dry and then rinse with clear water and a cotton cloth.
      • Grease (salad dressing, sauce): apply terre de sommières, leave to absorb for a few hours, then wipe gently.
      • Stained clothing: apply milk and 70° alcohol, rub gently and then wipe with a dry cotton cloth.
      • Blood: apply a cotton pad soaked in white vinegar diluted in water, then wipe with a dry cotton cloth.

What are the criteria for a good course bag?

      • Choose a large bag such as the Lacoste: it is imperative that all your course materials can fit inside.
      • Choose a robust material such as leather with the Lancaster bag: buying a solid bag means ensuring that it will last over time.
      • Go for comfort with a shoulder bag such as the Etrame by Betty London: think of your long days at school.
      • Don't forget the trend: be comfortable, yes, but fashionable too!
    • Which model to choose?
      • The satchel : This model is very practical and gives you a casual look. You can carry the bag on your shoulder or across your body thanks to its long adjustable shoulder strap. Ideally, you should opt for a long shoulder strap of 125 to 130 cm, so as not to be too tight.
      • The tote bag: This bag is very trendy but also very practical because it can hold a lot of things. Choose bags with wide handles between 35 and 45cm so that you are as comfortable as possible.
      • Again, nothing is more robust than leather bags.

      • The backpack The leather backpack is perfect for continuing to use a very practical product, but moving away from the overly academic model. Choose a bag with wide, adjustable straps.
